What is the best way to answer the question of what you want to be when you grow up? Find out in this very short video clip from a local church service.
A local church was having a special message presented by a member of the congregation.
The presenter was asking different questions to children of various ages . When one child was asked what she wanted to be when she grew up, she innocently said, “I want to be a trash girl.” This got a big laugh from the congregation. Yes, this really happened.
We all know that most young girls do not want to be called trash for obvious reasons. It’s probably not politically correct to call a girl trash in today’s society either.
But what happens if a little girl says, “I want to be a trash girl.” Well, the first thing to do is find out what her father does for a living.
In this particular case, the little lady’s dad is in the garbage collection business.
Now, keep in mind that a Trash Girl doesn’t fit the stereotype of a person filling the job of collecting trash from garbage cans and dumping them into a truck every day.
We usually expect men to fill this type of job.
Both men and women can pull those garbage bins to the truck and use the lift to dump those cans into the back.
There is a lot of physical work involved, but if you’re they type of person who stays in shape, trash collection can be a great (although smelly) job.
Unless you’re the person driving the truck, garbage men and women can get a lot of exercise in any given day: walking, lifting, and bending,
In the summer, things can get pretty hot out on the pavement. The opposite is true in the winter. So, garbage people can sweat or freeze depending on the time of year.
So, if you’re a young lady with aspirations of becoming a trash collector, feel free to look into it.
